Computer virus is a type of malicious software program that, when executed, replicates itself by modifying other computer programs and inserting its own code. When this replication succeeds, the affected areas are then said to be «infected» with a computer virus. 2. To prevent your computer from virus injections you should always ensure that you have an anti-virus software installed and enabled on your computer. When you save a file to your computer, either from an internet download or from another computer, always run a scan on it to make sure it is virus free. Be extremely cautious of websites that asks you to install a 'plug-in'. You should not open attachments sent by email from people you do not know and you should always be cautious even if you know who they are from. Be cautious about opening files that have two file extensions e.g. myfile.doc.exe and do not run .exe files sent to you as attachments without checking them first. 4.
